Video: Finding Intention, Balance and Cultivation in a Distracted World

Filmed at King’s College Hospital London Dubai, November 13, 2022

It was an honour to be the guest speaker at the inaugural Annual Scientific Conference held by King’s College Hospital London Dubai.

I shared my story as an amateur athlete of coping with the physical and psychological impact of knee surgery (on both knees). As someone who was used to running six days a week before the injuries, I knew I’d need an effective strategy given the expected 18-month recovery time (with no guarantees).

In this talk, I share the three strategies I used, and the powerful concept that lies behind each. Concepts we can all apply.

Credit to Cal Newport, author and associate professor of computer science at Georgetown University, for the ideas in my talk.
